A Parisian designer-shoe label with boutiques in four countries and no fund or parent group in any public filing. The two friends who founded it still run it, and it owns the Portuguese workshop that makes part of the line. Its other factories go unnamed.
The Big Picture
Antoine Bolze and Alexis Maugey have run Bobbies since 2010, and no investment fund, parent company, or institutional shareholder appears in the French registry, in the UK subsidiary's ownership filing, or in the founders' own account of how the business is financed. Production stays in Europe and the company owns a workshop in Portugal that makes a share of its shoes, but it publishes no list of the partner factories making the rest and holds no third-party social or environmental audit. Bobbies answers to its two founders and the partner who runs alongside them, not to anyone who bought in.
