Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory has never taken outside money. Founder Mark Thompson opened it in 2001 and still runs it; press through 2019 named River Café's Buzz O'Keeffe as co-owner, and no ownership change has been reported since. As a single storefront it leaves little public labor or environmental record, and nothing troubling has surfaced. It answers to its owners, not a fund or a chain.
