The Big Picture
Esse Taco is a single standing-room counter in Williamsburg owned inside Casamata, the Mexico City group chef Enrique Olvera founded, and no outside investor has ever been disclosed at either level. An April 2024 hiring notice put back-of-house pay at $16.00 to $19.00 an hour alongside health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off, which is unusually full for a taco counter. As a two-year-old single shop it has little environmental or supply-chain record either way, and it answers to Olvera and his own partners rather than to a fund.
