Mary O's

Mary O'Halloran owns and runs both Mary O's locations herself, with no investor, funding round, or outside financing on record since she opened the Avenue A pub in 2010. The pub and the soda bread shop were both paid for out of the business's own sales, including the more than $1 million in scone orders a 2021 Humans of New York post brought in. As two small East Village storefronts they have little public labor or environmental record yet, so the clean read reflects their size more than a vetted history; the business answers to Mary O'Halloran and nobody else.
