A TikTok chef opened a one-sandwich counter in the West Village on money from two friends. A little over a year later he sold it to Wonder, the venture-backed platform that owns Blue Apron and Grubhub. The shop is still open; the ownership isn't.
The Big Picture
Henry Laporte opened Salt Hank's with two friends in 2025 and built it into a one-sandwich phenomenon. In August 2026 Wonder bought it: a venture-backed platform that also owns Blue Apron and Grubhub, has raised over $3 billion since 2021 and has said it is preparing to go public. The Bleecker Street counter is still open and Laporte still fronts it, but no continuing stake has been reported.
