The Big Picture

Significant Concerns

Movement was assembled by PE firm Tengram Capital through acquisitions of Earth Treks, Planet Granite, and the original Movement Climbing, and more than 500 workers at 10 of its gyms have unionized with Workers United. In May 2026 the union filed federal charges alleging nationwide surface bargaining, unilateral working-condition changes in New York, and interrogation of workers in Maryland — all unresolved, with the union asking members to freeze memberships in support. No founders remain; the company answers to its PE owners.
