Leonard Green & Partners is a Los Angeles PE firm with roughly $85 billion under management, known for consumer and retail buyouts. On Ferret it owns the majority of both PureGym (which absorbed Blink Fitness) and Crunch Fitness. It also took Life Time private in a $4B-plus buyout in 2015 alongside TPG, then sold most of that position down after the 2021 relisting. Its reported stake fell to 2.6% in an August 2026 13D/A, and days later it distributed most of even that to its own investors in kind, leaving roughly 1%. One of its two board seats went with it when partner J. Kristofer Galashan resigned on August 26, 2026, the same day as TPG's director; managing partner John Danhakl stays on as Life Time's lead director, which is why the connection is still worth showing a reader even though the money behind it has nearly gone.
