Wolfnights

Mediterranean wrap shop · 2+ locations · Manhattan: Midtown, Murray Hill

A neighborhood wrap counter that spent the pandemic chasing a 500-store franchise plan. It grew from two Manhattan shops to five and is back to two, with a food supplier and its own lender both suing in 2026.

Founder-run

The Big Picture

Mixed Picture

Founder Itai Afek still owns and runs Wolfnights, and no outside investor has ever taken a stake, so the outside claims on the business come from creditors and a regulator rather than shareholders. The 500-store franchise plan he announced in 2021 never happened: the chain is back to the two Manhattan shops it had beforehand, and in 2026 a food supplier sued over unpaid goods while a lender sued the company and Afek personally over two notes, both unresolved. The New York State Workers' Compensation Board had already obtained money judgments against two Wolfnights entities, in May 2021 and August 2023.
